About California Research Foundation
California Research Foundation is a San Diego, California based industry leader in clinical research trials.
California Research Foundation has been a leader in clinical trials since 1966, performing hundreds of protocols covering most areas of internal medicine, with a focus on vaccine trials. Beginning with our founder, Milan L. Brandon, MD, who began the Brandon family private practice, to the current Principal Investigator of California Research Foundation, Donald M. Brandon, MD – the legacy continues.
A multi-specialty group of private practice board-certified specialists, supported by a full-time staff dedicated solely to clinical research, California Research Foundation has completed over 600 FDA sanctioned clinical investigative studies covering Phases I thru IV with enrollment totals as large as 1,000 participants per protocol.
Set apart by medical excellence and long-standing ties to the community
Designated by Pfizer, Inc. as a “super site” due to our rapid enrollment and collection of quality data during the first waves of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, California Research Foundation’s contribution is proudly supported by our board-certified specialists and full-time clinical staff.
Partnering with our civic-minded and forward-thinking community allows us to enroll large volumes of dedicated research volunteers who are committed to helping advance science. The core drivers of our success, the dedication of our staff and our community, cannot be overstated.
Along with our robust digital and traditional recruitment campaigns, we are truly grateful to our study volunteers, many of whom are “study ambassadors” who continue to spread information about our important study efforts throughout the community.

Enrolling Studies
From influenza and pneumonia to respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus (RSV) and COVID, California Research Foundation operates on the forefront of advancing medical science and treatment. Without valued participants, California Research Foundation could never have realized life-changing milestones like advancing the COVID-19 vaccine, found quality of life for Arthritis sufferers, or helped in the discovery of newfound research in Osteoporosis.
Please take a moment to review our currently enrolling studies and consider becoming a “hero” who contributes to medical advancements.
